Appointment Policy & Consent
Dear Client
Your time is extremely valuable to me, and I sincerely appreciate your mutual respect for mine. The following Appointment Policy is in place to protect the integrity of my time, my business operations, and the experience of all clients. By booking, you agree to the terms outlined below.
Your Assurances
These policies are in place to ensure that I uphold the same level of accountability and professionalism as your service provider.
If I am more than 10 minutes late to your appointment and not present in the studio, you will receive a $50 discount. This does not apply if I am still with another client or briefly stepping away for a break.
If I cancel your appointment on the same day, you will receive a $50 or greater credit toward your next service. This applies regardless of circumstance, including emergencies, and I will work with you to reschedule promptly.
In the rare event of a booking error resulting in overlapping appointments, you will receive a $50 or greater discount and your appointment will be rescheduled with priority.
You will always be treated with care, respect, and professionalism within my studio.
Before Your Appointment
Please eat prior to your appointment and stay hydrated.
Consistent moisturizing and daily sunscreen use are strongly encouraged in the week leading up to your appointment.
Avoid alcohol and caffeine for 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Avoid Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Naproxen, and all blood-thinning medications for 48 hours prior to your appointment. If prescribed, you must consult your physician before discontinuing use and provide written medical clearance.
If you are sensitive to temperature, please dress warmly or bring a blanket. The studio is kept cool and it can feel cold even during warmer months.
Previous Work
A Signature Design Consultation is required prior to booking any PMU service on previously treated areas.
Desired results may require more than two sessions depending on the condition of the skin and prior work.
Removal and Color Balancing services are gradual processes that require multiple sessions, heal unpredictably, and may not yield immediate visible results. Due to the variability of pigments and techniques used by other artists, removal is strongly recommended over color balancing when applicable.
I reserve the right to refuse service if previous work falls outside the scope of safe or effective correction, or if the area presents with significant scarring or keloiding.
When appropriate, I will refer you to a qualified professional such as an esthetician, laser technician, or dermatologist Regardless of eligibility for service, you will always be treated with respect and care.
Failure to disclose previous PMU work prior to your appointment may result in receiving a recommended service with consent, or cancellation and forfeiture of your deposit.
No-Show Policy
Failure to communicate or attend your scheduled appointment will result in immediate cancellation and forfeiture of your deposit.
A new $50 deposit, along with a $50 no-show fee, will be required to rebook. Of the $100 total, $50 will be applied toward your future service.
No-shows will result in refusal of future bookings at my discretion.
Late Policy
Timely communication is required if you anticipate arriving late.
Appointments may incur a $50 late fee if you arrive more than 10 minutes late.
Appointments will be canceled if you are more than 15 minutes late, and your deposit will be forfeited.
Frequent lateness may result in refusal of future bookings.
Rescheduling & Cancellations
One complimentary reschedule is permitted if requested more than 20 hours prior to your appointment.
All cancellations and rescheduling requests must be made at least 20 hours in advance.
Cancellations made within the complimentary 20 hours of your appointment will result in forfeiture of your $50 deposit and require a new deposit to rebook.
Same-day cancellations will be treated as a no-show.
Professional and timely communication is always appreciated.
Touch-up appointments must be scheduled within 4-6 weeks. Appointments scheduled outside of this time frame will be priced as a separate service.
Payment
Accepted payment methods include card, cash, Cash App, and Zelle.
Flexible payment plans are available through Afterpay, Affirm, and Klarna. All applicable taxes and terms are determined by the provider.
All deposits are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable. This ensures your reserved time is protected.
All services are final sale. Refunds are not offered under any circumstances.
Card payments are subject to applicable taxes and processing fees through Square or third-party payment providers.
Once a payment plan has been established through a third-party provider, all financial agreements are solely between you and that provider.
Pricing is subject to change at any time and may vary based on individual circumstances.
Future appointments may not reflect initial pricing.
Clients who do not maintain annual touch-ups may be subject to extended touch-up pricing.
Permaesthetics pricing does not apply.
Studio Policy
Children are not permitted during appointments.
Clients aged 16 and older may receive non-invasive services such as a Tint & Shape or Lash Lift & Tint.
PMU services are strictly limited to clients 18 years or older, regardless of parental consent.
A valid government-issued ID is required in compliance with state regulations.
A shared waiting area is available. Please remain mindful and respectful of others in the space.
Phone calls are not permitted within the studio environment.
Results Disclaimer
All PMU services require a minimum of two sessions to achieve optimal results. Some clients and services may require three or more.
Immediate results will differ from healed results. Fading is a normal and expected part of the process.
Annual maintenance is required, with some clients needing more frequent touch-ups.
No final result is achieved in a single session, and complete fading over time is expected.
Lifestyle factors such as exfoliation, chemical treatments, sun exposure, tanning beds, medications, and skincare products will affect pigment retention.
A full healing period of at least 4 weeks is required. Surface healing is only one phase of the process.
Strict adherence to aftercare is essential to achieve optimal results.
Consent
By booking, you consent to photography for documentation purposes.
Images may be used for professional and marketing purposes.
You may opt out of portfolio use with both verbal and written notice provided in person.
Food & Drink Disclaimer
Complimentary snacks and beverages may be available. I assume no liability for allergic reactions, dietary sensitivities, or medical complications.
I am not licensed to provide or administer food or drink in a medical capacity. Please use your own discretion when consuming any items provided.
Products may contain common allergens including gluten, dairy, and sugar.
Clients are strongly encouraged to eat prior to their appointment.
Food and beverages are reserved for active clients only.
Final Notice
Failure to adhere to policies, provide accurate information, or maintain appropriate communication may result in cancellation of your appointment, forfeiture of your deposit, and refusal of future bookings.
I do not perform corrective work on clients who have received services from another artist after being treated at Ptera. If you choose another provider after a consultation with me, I will not revise their work. Removal services are the only exception.
Important Health Restrictions
**I do not administer medication. If you require medical support such as sugar tablets, you must provide and manage them independently. Appointments may be rescheduled if necessary.
Do not book if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Do not book if you are currently taking antibiotics.
Do not book if you have used Accutane within the past year.
Do not book if you have received Botox within the past two weeks.
Do not book if you have used retinol within the past 4 weeks.
Do not book if you have received chemical peels or laser treatments within the past 3 weeks.
Do not book if you have active skin irritation, sunburn, or acne in the treatment area.
Do not book if you have unmanaged blood, heart, immune, or glucose-related conditions.
Do not book if you are undergoing cancer treatment or chemotherapy.
